For a number of days I wanted to get this shot. During this time of year (May) the water is pouring over the falls. We had a couple of great days on our tour with the sun shining and I knew if the wind was right, we would get a rainbow from the water coming back up the wall of the falls. Shot with a Nikon D300 and 10.5mm 2.8 lens @ f/11.

Love that these guys are using my live shot of them in their promos. My image on the bottom was shot at the Hot Rocks Awards in 2011. Real hard to get a shot where all band members are in the same image.

The Seattle Great Wheel

When I first heard about the Great Seattle Wheel going up on the waterfront, I was lukewarm about the whole idea. Slowly as the construction progressed, it became more of a curiosity for me, but the skyline was being changed and people in Seattle don’t like to get out of our comfort zone too much. Right after it opened I could see an immediate change in the amount of people experiencing the waterfront shops and enjoying the views and I have to say it is much busier than I have ever seen it. Reminds me in many ways like that of the San Francisco Fisherman’s Wharf now and I’m happy with the results.

I finally had a chance to go up in the wheel and figured I needed to take my camera along as well. These are some of the shots mostly taken with my Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8 lens.

Shot a wonderful fundraising event last night, the Julie Kathan Benefit Concert. Lots of great musicians turned out to share their talents and donate their time to this great cause. Here are a few of the images I like as I start the editing process. Musicians L/R are Pamela Moore, Aaron Balsley, Somar Macek, Howard Leese and Roni Lee.

Roger Fisher and Heart by Heart Show

Saw a great show with my good friends Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees Roger Fisher, Steve Fossen and Mike DeRosier. Standing room only for a packed show with 2 hours with Roger and his band and then a great set with Heart by Heart.

Channeling Jimi Hendrix

I went back and reworked an image I had shot of Randy Hansen earlier this year. Combining multiple textures and layers in Photoshop as well as a bit of help with a modified setting I use in Topaz Adjust 4 on the first image. I then combined this with the Alien Skin Snap Art 2 Oil Paint setting in the second image.

Inspired by my shoot with The Prophets of Addiction, I figured going as a Rocker was a good bet for Halloween this year. I think maybe I’ll dress like this for my shoots and during live shows. Us photographers need to develop our personalities too
